Golar LNG-subsidiary Macaw Energies' innovative F2X solution seeks to address today's climate concerns 

An independent GHG assessment by SUEZ Consulting has highlighted how the technology captures and repurposes gas that would otherwise be flared into liquid flare.The cheap solution allows to bring down the carbon footprint of oil and gas operations by huge numbers, with potential emissions savings in power generation and transportation surpassing 50%.

The report outlines a scenario where an oil production operation flaring 24,000 m3/d (0.85 mmscfd) of gas emits 63 tons of CO2e and uses diesel to power a 3,5 MW drilling operation, generating additional 59 tCO2e) daily. By integrating Macaw's F2X technology, these emissions can be reduced by 55%, avoiding the release of more than 20,000 tons of CO2e annually.

Also, the adoption of Macaw's solution represents a tangible SCOPE 1 emissions reduction for oil and gas producers, allowing for lower emissions than baseline scenarios and potentially generating carbon credits and incentives under specific standards.
