Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) has awarded Technip a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and start-up assistance for the modification project of Bahrain Refinery's #3 sulphur recovery unit (SRU)
The new project will be expected to ensure that #3SRU is capable of safely burning sour water stripper off gas and become a viable spare for the new #4SRU.
Vaseem Khan, senior vice-president of Technip in the Middle East, said, “Technip in the Middle East has a vast experience in managing complex brownfield EPC projects and is, therefore, best suited to execute this contract, with an aggressive fast-track schedule regarding ready for start-up and commissioning phases.”
The project has been scheduled for completion in the second half of 2014, the company said.
