Aside from engineering and safety courses for process, oil and gas industry, the UAE-based company also provides 3D virtual walk for real-time experience to training personnel.

This is very important as training cannot be done in an actual environment since it may be hazardous, both offshore and onshore, according to Edutech.

Paul Rajesh, manager for the energy industry in Middle East region, said, “This is our first time at ADIPEC, but we have always been here as a visitor in the last few years. We are focused in providing training right from K12 to colleges and universities. For last two years, we have been focussing on energy verticals as there is a good demand in that area. So we thought it would be good to display here.”

Rajesh added that there was a wide range of offering, starting from exploration, softwares that can help in geo-logging, drilling, separation processes of oil, gas and water. The next-generation offerings include power plant simulation, refinery simulation, LNG transportation simulation, simulation of offshore rigs and chemical process simulation technologies.

Edutech training also includes refining for gas absorption and the company’s offering includes custom pilot plants, apart from process simulation plants, Rajesh said.

Talking about formal certifications, the manager added that certifications are given according to industrial standards like IADC and API, and it also has drilling simulators which can be used as a tool for professionals.

OCS Group currently operates a training centre in Houston, USA. Edutech in partnership with OCS Group equips companies to have their own training centres in the region.
