Wireless functionality added to gauging systems

The system is already operating successfully on three sites where all tanks had power cabling available but no proper signal wiring.
Cost savings can prove substantial as there is no need to do any new cabling work, according to the manufacturer.
By connecting Smart Wireless THUM adapter to the radar gauge on the tank top, complete tank inventory data is sent to the control room via wireless HART communication.
Besides level data, all relevant multi-point temperature transmitter, pressure sensor, and water bottom level data are also transmitted.
