SAP Hana tool to analyse big data insights

SAP has launched SAP Hana Big Data Intelligence solution designed to simplify and accelerate big data initiatives for businesses

According to the software firm, SAP Hana Big Data Intelligence solution is expected to simplify the implementation of SAP solutions in the cloud, on premise or in hybrid landscapes with predictable business outcomes at a lower cost.

Elvira Wallis, senior vice–president of solution and knowledge packaging at SAP, said, “This solution helps our customers make sense of their big data and provides pre-configured content and highly applicable data use cases as templates to jump-start their big data implementations. By leveraging the power of SAP Hana, this new solution allows our customers to realise and grasp the power of big data to help simplify and grow their business.”

Though traditionally more focused on structured data such as financial information, Hana was recently updated with support for streaming data focusing on real-time notifications of ongoing events, added Wallis.

Dan Vesset, programme vice–president for business analytics and big data at IDC, noted, “For several years, SAP was all about Hana but now they are much more explicit about recognising the value of other information-management technologies under their portfolio — especially those they got with the Sybase acquisition. That is good for customers who are increasingly looking for purpose-built solutions for specific use cases.”

Stream intelligence, sentiment intelligence and signal intelligence represent three common big data scenarios. SAP Hana Big Data Intelligence solution would address all three of them with pre–configured content, revealed Vesset.
