All components of explosion-proof equipment must comply with rigid safety specifications to ensure that no sparks, light arcs, electrostatic discharges or excessive-high temperatures could cause explosions in hazardous areas.
The compliance of the products with the valid rules and regulations is tested and certified by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and, if necessary, by the international authorities.
Certificates for explosion-proof design are issued not only for single components but also for fully assembled products.
Safety in operation: every explosive component and every manufactured product is certified and approved by the notified body. For example, the highest level of safety will be achieved by using pressure-resistant housings or by limiting energy.
Other critical factors, such as the temperature limitation of the pressure-resistant control housing with built-in direct current controller or inverter, the electrical motor and hydraulic fluids, are constantly monitored to ensure optimum safety. The truck shuts off when critical temperatures are reached.
To avoid ignitable sparks the fork is made of or coated with high-grade stainless steel (minimum 16.5 per cent chrome). The anti-pinning button is located on the head of the tiller arm. The touch of this immediately reverses the motion of the vehicle. This safety feature allows automatic movement away from the obstacle and reduces the risk of injury and damage.
Tiltable tandem load wheels enable the pallet truck to glide smoothly over uneven ground. The initial lift elevates the framework and the battery (EGU to achieve a high ground clearance).
There is a display with a battery discharge indicator function and a service hour meter. In addition, this display shows the status of the operation and allows error diagnosis.
