Ninth Oil & Gas West Asia exhibition set to be biggest yet

Oil & Gas West Asia (OGWA) 2014 is set to be largest edition of the exhibition so far, with more than 200 oil and gas companies set to attend

Indoor space at the event, which is taking place at the Oman International Exhibition Center in Muscat from 31 March to 2 April, has already sold out, according to show organiser Omanexpo.

Additional outdoor space has been allocated to accommodate still-incoming companies who are keen to take part, the organisers added.

Ebrahim Taher, OGWA exhibition manager, said, “We are glad about the enthusiastic response we are receiving from the industry. For the first time, we will be having China, Libya and India pavilions. We have also achieved a 25 per cent growth in the number of new participating companies apart from 50 per cent booked exhibition space from our valuable previous exhibitors.

“This is solid proof of the huge potential of the Oman market in the oil and gas sector. We hope to ensure the most profitable returns for all our exhibitors,” he added.

Among the companies exhibiting are: Qatar Petroleum; Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO); Petroleum Development Oman (PDO); Al Hassan Group; Al Sulaimi Group; Schlumberger; and Shell Development Oman.

Omanexpo has also renewed its partnership with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) to organise the SPE Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Conference, which will this year revolve around the theme, ‘Driving Integrated and Innovative EOR’.

OGWA will capitalise on the ever-growing requirement for oil that has fuelled the need for increased large-scale exploration and expansion projects and new investments into Oman’s petroleum resources, Omanexpo said.

Event sponsors include BP Exploration, Abraj Energy Services, Baker Hughes, IBD Group, VEC Oil & Gas Consultants, Gulf Energy, Norris Production Solutions and Tasneea Oil & Gas Company.
